When The Power Goes Out

Stop whatever you were doing,
light a candle,
snuggle with your children,
  listen to the rain,
wait.

Ponder the ancient quiet
that only happens
when the power goes out.

  1. :-) Some of my favorite childhood memories are of power-outs. Candlelight, books read aloud, everyone clustered around the fireplace... I might have to do intentional power-outs when I have a home of my own.

    God bless you!

  2. Hi Misty,

We recently had the power off for 24 hours. We were the lucky ones. People in town were without electricity for days. The weather was wild and windy and cold. We did enjoy the candles and snuggling together under blankets. Must admit I missed my hot shower though!
