Deep Peace {a Gaelic blessing}

Deep peace of the running wave to you. Deep peace of the flowing air to you. Deep peace of the quiet earth to you. Deep peace of the shining stars to you. Deep peace of the gentle night to you. Moon and stars pour their healing light on you. Deep peace of Christ, of Christ the light of the world to you. Deep peace of Christ to you.

A Holy Experience :: Light a Prayer Candle Day 10 {31 Days of my Favorite Links}

In the morning when I rise,  I light a candle.   The flame ignites  my soul's deepest desire  to connect with God. Every time I see the flame alight,  I whisper the simplest prayer of all, Thank You. As sunlight fades into night,  my candle flickers,  drawing me ever back  to my soul's  source. Before I climb the stairs to bed, the candle glows one last moment  before I inhale and blow it out the puff of smoke  my silent  Amen . School Morning Prayer

A small book of prayers to pray over your children. I like this little book.  It is full of very specific prayers to pray for your children from conception to adulthood.  As many of us are getting back into the swing of school days, I thought I would share this here. My son just came and looked over my shoulder and said, "Looks like a good book."  I smiled and replied, "It is." SCHOOL MORNING PRAYER by Julie Cragon Lord, as I wake my child for school may I help him to face a new day of exciting possibilities. May he be grateful for the chance to learn and  open to the teaching he receives. Help him to love his school,  to embrace the challenges set before him, to enjoy his teachers and his classmates. Keep them all in your care and bring us back together safely at the end of this day. Amen.

Intercessions For Labor Day

Will this day off bring you rest?  Will you find a moment, or two, to stand quietly beneath the canopy of the sky and listen to the peace God is offering to you today?  We are all called to work, to toil, to be active in our daily lives.  But we are also called to a weekly Sabbath, a rest, a pause, a time to remember our truest purpose in life.   Today's Intercessions in the Magnificat struck me as beautiful so I will share them here.   Pray along if you wish. With confidence in God's love for us, let us pray:                                Look kindly on your servants , O Lord, our God. You have called some to serve by work and some to serve by waiting: ~grant just working conditions to laborers and hope to the unemployed.                                Look kindly on your servants , O Lord, our God....

A Three Minute Retreat For You

      I have really been enjoying the 3 Minute Retreats from Loyola Press.  They are delivered to my in box each morning.   Here is one I wanted to share with you today. The title is Listen .     3 Minute Retreat from Loyola Press. I really like the idea of doing more listening than talking while praying. It's something I want to do more often. Just listen  to God.

A Prayer For The Powerful

    While walking through downtown Charlotte, NC I spotted this quotation engraved at the entrance to the city courthouse. A sufficient prayer for mothers, fathers, judges and all government leaders, don't you think?

A Benediction

Peace be with you.

In Memory

A flower from my garden in loving memory of my Uncle who passed away last night. May he rest in peace and all his loved ones find comfort in God's abiding love.
